February 22, 2026 DHS Temporarily Suspends Global Entry & TSA PreCheck: What Travelers Need to Know
As of this morning, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has temporarily suspended expedited screening benefits tied to TSA PreCheck and Global Entry due to the ongoing federal shutdown.
Programs impacted include:
Transportation Security Administration (TSA PreCheck)
Global Entry, operated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection
What This Means for You:
Travelers will temporarily move through standard TSA security lines and regular customs processing, even if they are enrolled in PreCheck or Global Entry. Memberships are not canceled — benefits are simply paused until normal operations resume.
You may experience:
Longer airport security lines
Increased wait times for international arrivals
Busier terminals during peak travel hours
What I’m Advising Clients
If you are traveling in the coming weeks:
✔️ Arrive at the airport 60–90 minutes earlier than you normally would
✔️ Monitor your airline for schedule updates
✔️ Allow extra connection time for international arrivals
✔️ Pack patience and flexibility into your plans
I am actively reaching out to clients booked with me to create a better airport game plan and ensure you’re prepared for any delays. Proactive planning makes all the difference.
I’ll continue monitoring updates and will share changes as soon as services are reinstated. ✈️
